Working with Assignments
 
Assignments (web-based, if enabled) 
 
Course Insite ® classes may have assignments associated to the classes. Those assignments are found by Viewing the Class Table of Contents of  Web Based Training classes as is shown below:
 

 
To access the appropriate assignment, the participant selects the box to the far right in the assignment column (highlighted in red). Theassignment column will have various icons within that columns displaying your progress as shown in the table below:

Assignments (Instuctor-Led)
 
Instructor-led training does not display assignments in a Table Of Contents view, but rather in the Student Portfolio, as is shown below:
 
 
Accessing Assignments
 
In order for you to access your assignment, click on the icon to take you to the list of assigned materials from your instructor.  The list will then be displayed as depicted below:
 
  
 
Once here, you should click on the icon, in this case the assigned Word document with the hourglass to right of the Date Due.
 
Assignment Handling
 
When you  are given an assignment, you should access the assignments as detailed above and read and perform the work as instructed. Assignments may come in a variety of file formats, HTML, Acrobat (PDF), Word (doc), Excel (xls), Powerpoint (ppt) or any of a wide variety of multimedia formats (wma, mp3, rm, etc.). Any file format that an assignment requires which is non-standard will be handled through  Getting Plugins for a Class by your instructor.
 
Whatever type of work that is requested from your assignment, the assignment interface (depicted below) will allow you to retrieve, upload, store and work on your assigned material prior to the due date of your assignment.
 
 
 
You can upload your work in progress by:
  • Typing a description in the Notes section,
  • Browse to your current work file 
  • click on Save Changes
  • Your last upload of your assignment in progress can always be accessed through the current file link, this allows you quick access to a stored copy of your assignment should you lose your work in progress for any reason
 
To edit your work, simply click on the edit link to retrieve your assignment in-progress. When you are satisfied with your work, you may click the link to turn-in your assignment for review by your instructor.
