Class Portfolio

Your Class Portfolio shows a list of all the classes that the user has registered for and provides access to the User Tools menu, the Portfolio Tools menu and other features you can use to manage your portfolio.
 

Things You Can Do in the Class Portfolio

Viewing Your Class List

Your Class Portfolio page contains a list of all the classes for which you are registered, even if you have just begun the registration process. The following describes each part of the class list:

  • Type—The type of class as follows:
    • WBT—(Web-based) This class has online content and tests. Click on the class name to access content.
    • ILT—(Instructor-Led) This class is taught live. Click on the class name or info icon for its location and time.
    • EXT—(External) This class is not hosted by CourseInsite®. Click on the class name or info icon for more information.
    • MIX—(Mixed) This class has both a web-based component and an instructor-led component. Click on the class name to view web-based content; click on the info icon for information on the instructor-led component.
  • Icons—The icons that appear next to each class work as follows:
    • —Click the info icon for more information about a class.
    • —Click the cancel icon to cancel your reservation for a class.
    • —Click the register icon to register and pay for a class.
  • Class Name—The title of the class. Click the class name link to see the contents of the course.
  • Status—Your current status in the class as follows:
    • Reserved—You have a seat reserved for a class but have not completed the payment process.
    • Registered—You have a seat reserved for a class and have completed the payment process if applicable.
    • Waiting—You are on the waiting list for that class and will be notified if seat becomes available. Your position on the waiting list is displayed.
    • Attended—You have attended the class.
    • Absent—The class has met, but you did not attend.
    • Cancelled—The class has been cancelled.
    • Active—You are registered but have not begun any assessment tests.
    • Testing—You have a test currently in progress.
    • Passed—You have passed all the required tests to receive credit for the class.
    • Failed—You have failed a test required in order to complete the class.

      Note: If you have completed a course, either by passing or failing, you will not be able to view the class if administrators have disallowed it.

    • Locked—The class information or content has been disabled by the administrator for editing or other reasons.
  • Due Date—The final date the user will be able to access the class. Users are notified of the approaching due date by email 5 days before, 3 days before, and on the due date.
  • Plugins—A list of plugins required to access all of the class' contents such as audio or video. Below the plugin list for the class is a link where the user can download the plugin(s).
  • Memo Notes—Indicates that the user has taken and stored personal notes within the class.
Things You Can Do in the Class Portfolio

Follow the instructions to start a specific task. If a link is availabe you can click it for further details:

  • Click on the User Tools Menu in the menu bar to access any of its functions.
  • Click on the Portfolio Tools Menu in the menu bar to access any of its functions.
  • Click a class' Info icon ( ) to open the class's descriptive information as displayed in the class catalog.
  • Click a class' Cancel icon ( ) to cancel your reservation in a class.
  • Click a class' Register icon ( ) to Register for a Class if you have been on the waiting list and have been notified a spot is available.
  • Click the Class Catalog button in the menu bar to View the Class Catalog.
  • Click the Transcript button to view your transcript in a printable format in a separate window.
  • Click the Edit Transcript link to Edit Your Transcript.
  • Click the Legend button to see a window that explains some elements of the Class Portfolio.
  • Click the name of a class to View a Class.
  • Click a Get Plugins link to Get Plugins for that class.
  • Click the Sort by Type button to sort the class list by class type. The button will change to Sort by Name, which you can click to sort the class list by class name.
  • Click the Calendar button to View Your Calendar.
  • Click the Hide button at the end of the row to hide a class in this list.
  • Click the Show Hidden button to show any classes you have hidden. You can click that class' Unhide button to show that class.
